Expand descriptionThis phase III trial compares the effect of open thoracic surgery (thoracotomy) to thoracoscopic surgery (video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery or VATS) in treating patients with osteosarcoma that has spread to the lung (pulmonary metastases). Open thoracic surgery is a type of surgery done through a single larger incision (like a large cut) that goes between the ribs, opens up the chest, and removes the cancer. Thoracoscopy is a type of chest surgery where the doctor makes several small incisions and uses a small camera to help with removing the cancer. This trial is being done evaluate the two different surgery methods for patients with osteosarcoma that has spread to the lung to find out which is better.

Single Ascending Dose Study of SAR439459 in Adults With Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI)
Expand descriptionSAR439459 is a human anti-Transforming growth factor ß (TGFß) monoclonal antibody. This phase 1 clinical study investigates the safety, tolerability, and activity of a single dose of SAR439459 in adult participants with OI. Participants will receive a single IV dose of SAR439459 with safety, pharmacokinetic (PK), and pharmacodynamic (PD) assessments over 24 weeks. There will be up to 3 dose cohorts. In addition to safety, tolerability, and PK assessments, bone mineral density (BMD) will be evaluated by dual-energy Xray absorptimetry (DXA) scan and a series of blood biomarkers will be monitored to document pharmacodynamic effects of the single dose of SAR439459.

Specifically, in children/adolescents aged 7 years to 21 years and 11 months who have completed treatment for a brain tumour, is oral administration of metformin for 16 weeks associated with greater improvement of cognitive function and brain growth compared to placebo administered for 16 weeks?
