  • Nitrate INFORMER Meat Study

    Nitrate is a controversial component of vegetables, meat, and drinking water. The now well-established benefits of nitrate, through the enterosalivary nitrate-nitrite-nitric oxide (NO) pathway, on cardiovascular risk factors and long-term cardiovascular disease risk are tarnished by a continuing concern about a link between nitrate ingestion and cancer. This can result in misguided advice to avoid consumption of high-nitrate leafy green vegetables by both the media and the scientific literature. A recent media headline stated, "Cancer alert over rocket: trendy salad leaves exceed safe levels of carcinogenic nitrates in one in every ten samples". One scientific review stated, "the presence of nitrate in vegetables, as in water and generally in other foods, is a serious threat to man's health". Controversy in the literature, and gaps in the knowledge are leading to confusing messages around vegetables that may play a critical role in cardiovascular health. The major dietary sources of nitrate are vegetables, meat, and drinking water. Source of nitrate could be a crucial factor determining whether the consumption of nitrate is linked with beneficial (such as improving cardiovascular health) versus harmful (N-nitrosamine formation) effects. For example, unlike meat and water-derived nitrate, vegetables contain high levels of vitamin C and/or polyphenols that may inhibit the production of N-nitrosamines. So far, no study has investigated the formation of N-nitrosamines after consumption of these different sources in humans. This study will compare N-nitrosamine formation after intake of meat with and without added nitrate.

  • EPI-7386 in Combination with Enzalutamide Compared with Enzalutamide Alone in Subjects with MCRPC

    This is a Phase 1/2 study of EPI-7386 orally administered in combination with enzalutamide in subjects with mCRPC. Phase 1 of the study will be a single-arm dose escalation study of EPI-7386 in combination with a fixed dose of enzalutamide. This portion of the study will primarily evaluate the safety and tolerability of the drug combination and establish the RP2CDs for EPI-7386 and enzalutamide when dosed in combination. In addition, blood sampling will be conducted for PK evaluation to assess the potential DDI between the two drugs. Once the RP2CD for each drug has been established, Phase 2 of the study will commence. Phase 2 is a two-arm, randomized (2:1), open-label study. Approximately 120 subjects will be randomized 2:1 to: * Group 1: EPI-7386 at the RP2CD + enzalutamide(depending on the results of the Phase 1) (n=80) * Group 2: Enzalutamide single agent (n=40) The planned dose of enzalutamide and EPI-7386 for the combination arm will be those determined in the Phase 1 of this study based on safety and exposure data. Subjects may remain on study treatment as long as they are tolerating treatment without disease progression based on RECIST v1.1 and/or PCWG3.

  • Assessment of Safety and Preliminary Efficacy With BAT6021 in Solid Tumor Patients

    This first-in-human open-label, multi center, dose-escalation and expansion study is designed to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and PK of BAT6021 alone or in combination with BAT1308 (an anti-PD-1 antibody) in participants with locally advanced, recurrent, or metastatic incurable tumors for whom standard therapy does not exist, has proven to be ineffective or intolerable, or is considered inappropriate, or for whom a clinical trial of an investigational agent is a recognized standard of care.

  • Study of Efficacy and Safety of Investigational Treatment in Patients With Nail Psoriasis

    Part 1 is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase 1b study to evaluate AT193 in approximately 34 patients with nail psoriasis for 16 weeks. Part 2 is an open-label extension phase where all patients will receive active drug for an additional 16 weeks followed by a 2 week nontreatment period.
