Long-Term Follow-up Protocol for Participants Treated With Gene-Modified T Cells

Participants who received at least one infusion of GM T cells will be asked to enroll in this LTFU protocol upon either premature discontinuation from, or completion of the prior parent treatment protocol.

Computer-based Cognitive Rehabilitation Program for Healthy Older Adults, Older People With Mild Cognitive Impairment and Mild Dementia
Expand descriptionThis study will adopt a newly developed computer-based cognitive rehabilitation program targeting the encoding stage of memory. The aims of the study are: 1. To test the feasibility of conducting a newly developed computer-based cognitive rehabilitation program for healthy older adults, people with MCI and mild dementia. 2. To test the effectiveness of the newly developed program in improving cognitive function and enabling maintenance of occupational performance in healthy older adults, people with MCI or mild dementia. Using an iPad application, study participants will learn a memory encoding strategy to support completion of their daily activities. By implementing memory encoding strategies during the mild stages of cognitive decline, the project aims to prolong independence in functional performance. It is anticipated that adoption of the same memory strategies will enable maintain performance as they may experience ongoing cognitive decline.

PET/CT and Bacterial/Fungal PCR in High Risk Febrile Neutropenia
Expand descriptionPatients with acute leukaemia requiring induction or consolidation chemotherapy and those requiring a haematopoietic stem cell transplant are at high risk of fever and infection when they have low white cell counts (neutropenic fever). The causes of neutropenic fever are frequently unknown and patients are treated with broad antibiotics, without a clear target to what is being treated. This study will prospectively enroll patients who are receiving chemotherapy for acute leukaemia or for a stem cell transplant and compare the diagnostic utility of bacterial and fungal PCR performed directly off blood drawn, to the standard blood culture. Patients who have persistent fever after 72 hours of antibiotics will then be randomized to have either the interventional scan (PET/CT) or the conventional scan (standard CT) to look for a source of infection. Diagnostic yield, change in management and outcomes will be compared between arms.
